• Carbon capture and storage project in Canada shuttered

  (Italiano) Ormai sono decine i progetti su scala industriale pionieri per il sequestro della CO2 da centrali termoelettriche. Uno dei più importanti però rischia di fallire ancora prima di porre la prima pietra.

• FOWT: floating offshore wind turbines

  The U.S. and the United Kingdom will jointly develop floating offshore wind turbines that do not require anchoring to the seabed.
  The two countries will collaborate in the development of floating wind technology designed to generate power in deep waters currently off limits to conventional turbines but where the wind is much stronger. Both parties hope that developing the technology will increase the UK’s offshore wind potential, reduce the current costs of offshore wind and allow floating turbines to be towed back to port for repairs instead of having to carry them out at sea.
  A new MOU on “Collaboration in Energy Related Fields” covers collaboration in areas such as power generation, energy transmission and distribution and energy efficiency.

  (Italiano) Con una storica sentenza (sentenza n.48/2012) il TAR del Veneto ha accolto il ricorso di una famiglia proprietaria di una villetta su cui volevano installare un impianto fotovoltaico da pochi KW per autoconsumo, di fatto vincendo contro la Soprintendenza dei beni culturali e contro il comune di Susegana (TV).

  (Italiano) Secondo l’edizione più recente del “Monthly Energy Review” dalla US Energy Information Administration (EIA), con dati fino al 31 dicembre 2011, le fonti di energia rinnovabili sono aumentate rapidamente durante i primi tre anni dell’amministrazione Obama, sostanzialmente superando la crescita dei combustibili fossili e dell’energia nucleare.
